Installing the Darwin´s Frog Breeding Center, Day 2

We shopped till we dropped.  Our list of supplies to pick up ranged from screen for the false bottoms to coconuts.  Fortunately, Santiago’s excellent hardware stores not only included everything we needed but also things we hadn’t seen in the United States.  Best of all, we found Rain-X, which allowed us to prevent the exhibit glass from fogging.

Setting up the Darwins Frog breeding facility at the National Zoo of Chile in Santiago

The Darwin’s Frog conservation initiative, involving the Atlanta Botanical Garden and the National Zoo of Chile in Santiago, is gearing up to finish installing a captive breeding facility for imperiled Darwin’s Frogs this week at the zoo in Santiago. After months of buying equipment, organizing shipping, and ironing out travel details, we are finally ready to put the equipment into the new facility at the National Zoo of Chile.
